Origins	Native to South Africa but new varieties have been bred in Europe and Japan.
Season Availability	All year round
Description	A compact plant with dark green leaves and showy flowers arising on short stems.
Colours	White, Pink, Red, Yellow, Purple and Orange.
Growing Conditions	Gerberas require a sunny or well-lit position on a window sill or balcony.
Care Instructions	Water once or twice a week to keep potting soil moist but not wet. After flowering remove flowers and feed with a soluble plant food to encourage more flowering. May be planted in a larger pot or in the garden.
